-Artist Statement-

Give me a character and a story, and I will make the clothing to fit the part. There is a fine line between clothing and costume; reality and the imagination. For me, designing historical costume is about using color, line, texture, form, and balance to express myself in an artistic way. It is about using clothing to create the illusion of a bygone era. It is about romanticizing the past and escaping the present. It is taking what is known and attempting to interpret it for a modern audience. It is about making connections. And sometimes, it is simply about bringing to life the fictitious characters that exist within our own imaginations.
