Bustle Era Straw Bonnet

This bustle era straw bonnet is inspired by drawings in French Fashion plates from the 1870s and 1880s. It is a Romanticized version of 18th century upper class caps (as was popular during this period) but with a 19th century appeal.

A hybrid bonnet, this sweet little topper features a fully wired straw brim and silk body stiffened with crinoline. It is light as a feather and secured to the hair with a hat pin.

This bonnet is slightly adjustable and will fit a variety of head sizes (up to 23.5″). With hand made trim and lots and lots of hand stitching, this little lovely is sure to make a statement on any occasion!

This bonnet is available in our ready made catalog!

About Susan

My interest in historical costume began at a very early age. I knew by age 5 I wanted to be a designer. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to turn my passion into a full time business. You can find my costumes onstage in NYC, on the big screen, and in museums around the globe.
