After multiple internet inquiries regarding the mysterious dress Vienna Teng wore in her Gravity video, the guy who commissioned it responded:
“The gown Vienna wore in the Gravity video was created especially for it. We worked with a wardrobe designer in Los Angeles (Stacey Rayburn) and she located Susan Whitfield Jarrett, who makes historical clothing in Chattanooga, TN. Susan’s very cool website is “Maggie May’s Historic Clothing” at www.maggiemayfashions.com.
Vienna gave her measurements to Stacey and Susan Fed-Exed the dress to us just in time for us to fly it with us to Whidbey Island where we met Vienna. Fortunately, it fit without any need for alterations.”
Thanks for the compliments, Mark! I am very happy to hear the dress worked out for you!
No folks, the dress worn by Vienna Teng is not from a second hand shop nor is it from from LA. I designed this dress and built it to a handful of measurements sent to me by Stacey Rayburn.
The dress in Vienna Teng’s Gravity video is a two piece gown made of maroon shot silk with vintage glass jet buttons down the back. The sleeves are adjustable and can be worn either off the shoulder or on the shoulder.
