We recently completed these two mid 19th century girls’ dresses for Historic Exchange Place’s upcoming Garden Fair. These dresses are cut in the fashionable 1840s-1850s style and have a few inches adjustability. Children grow like weeds! Hopefully, these two little historical interpreters will get several garden fair seasons out of these lovelies!

This is our Ellie dress with a modified higher neckline and flounced sleeves. This silhouette was very popular for girls and young ladies during the 1850s. Shown with a contrasting pink calico pinafore that closes with a button at the neckline and ties at the waist.

This Ellie dress is shown over a corded petticoat (custom made) and gives considerable volume to the mid 19th century full skirt!

We designed this “mini” corded petticoat for a young girl based on our women’s version! It is only 22″ long!

A sweet little pink cotton calico sun bonnet matches the apron.

This is our standard Ellie dress based on museum originals dating the mid 19th century. This gown features a yoked bodice with extra full skirts attached together at the waistband. The gown closes at the center back with buttons.
Quick fact: This style gown was worn by both girls and boys until about the age of 6.

Our Ellie dress with contrasting calico cotton pinafore. Suitable for girls ages 5-12. Shown over a custom corded petticoat.

Another matching calico sun bonnet makes a lovely Spring ensemble!
