Queen Victoria’s 200th Birthday Tea

As you my have read in earlier posts, this May we hosted a charity tea in honor of Queen Victoria’s 200th Birthday! (It just so happens this year marks the 25th birthday of Maggie May Clothing too but it would be a bit brash to throw oneself a party wouldn’t it??) And after months of preparations, we gathered nearly 60 attendees and sat down to an authentic Victorian Era British Afternoon Tea!

So without further ado, here’s the highlights!

The tables were set!
The Menus were laid out!
Our little host showed the guests to their seats! (He took this job VERY seriously!)
Food was laid out. Servers were taken away and piled with towers of savories such as scones, finger sandwiches, and petit quiches!
Tea was served!
Sweets and lovely conversations filled the room.
Secrets were shared.
There was much to see.
There was much to learn.
We celebrated Queen Victoria “to scale!”
And by the end of the day, a lovely time was had by all!
Thank you to everyone who attended Queen Victoria’s 200th Birthday Tea!

About Susan

My interest in historical costume began at a very early age. I knew by age 5 I wanted to be a designer. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to turn my passion into a full time business. You can find my costumes onstage in NYC, on the big screen, and in museums around the globe.
