Our Suffragette March Jacket is based on original garments worn by women during the peaceful Suffragette marches that took place from 1914-1918. Our Suffragette March jacket is inspired by period photographs and period fashion plates.
Suffragettes traditionally wore white as a sign of solidarity and visual representation of femininity, virtue, and motherhood. As the movement progressed, white garments cut in fashionable style became the universal dress code and allowed women of all races and socio-economic statuses to join the cause.
Our Suffragette March jacket is made from a gorgeous lightweight beige and cream cotton-linen blend. It is semi lined in natural cotton and has hand made embellishments at the double notched collar. The jacket closes at center front with mother of pearl buttons and one hook and eye closure. The belt is attached at center back.
Sold by Bust and Waist size. A perfect addition to your historical 1914-1919 Suffragette ensemble or can be worn as modern day wear!
