Past Patterns #017

We recently made this gown for a client who serves as a living historian in Nashville, Tennessee. For this gown, we used our favorite historical pattern company- Past Patterns! Past Patterns has been making authentic, reliable historical sewing patterns since 1979!

Our version of Past Patterns #017 is made using a reproduction Romantic Era cotton print from our fabric collection. We used the fitted lining piece for the back in lieu of the gathered back.

The gown bodice is fully lined in lightweight cotton muslin and closes in the center front with hook and eyes. The narrow cuffs close with hook and eyes also. The piping around the neckline and armscyes are self made from the fashion fabric over narrow cotton cording.

We finished off the gown with our signature contrasting hem binding to add a little splash of color when walking.
