The Marie Dress (design your own)

The Marie Dress is inspired by the Portrait of Madame Seriziat by Jacques Louis David (c.1795). This cotton round gown was originally popularized by artist Vigee Le Brun and made famous by Marie Antoinette.

This transitional style gown is secured mid way between the bust and waist by a cotton drawstring. The skirt is slightly fuller than its later counterparts and can be adjusted easily by moving the gathers on the drawstring. The neckline is also secured by a cotton cord making this a very versatile gown. Decorative tucks adorn the ankle length hem. Shown over a shift (not included but recommended.)
